Student-Centered Coaching Cycles

Day 1 - Deep Dive Into Student- Centered Coaching Cycles

Learning objectives:

  • Explore the Principles of Student-Centered Coaching Cycles
  • Uncover why coaching cycles matter
  • Comprehend tools and techniques for measuring the impact of coaching cycles
  • Unlock strategies for engaging teachers in coaching cycles
  • Incorporate discussion around common challenges and barriers with coaching cycles 

Participants will be assigned to lead at least one coaching cycle, applying the tools and strategies they have learned. They will be asked to use the provided materials to document their work in preparation for the job-embedded learning on March 12th.

Day 2 -Reflect and Learn from Your Coaching Cycles

Learning objectives:

  • Experience discussion that will be framed based on topics that are gathered through a survey of participants between the sessions
  • Explore protocol-based learning that is grounded in the artifacts that coaches bring to document their coaching cycle(s)
  • Gain opportunities for problem-solving & feedback based on the how coaching cycles are going
  • Develop clear next steps for future coaching cycles

Target audience includes:

Instructional Coaches, Administrators and anyone involved in coaching cycles

Meet the Presenter:

Diane Sweeney has been an author and educational consultant since 1999. The author of five books on leadership and coaching, Diane holds a longstanding interest in how adult learning translates to learning in the classroom. Diane holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Denver and a Master’s in Bilingual and Multicultural Education from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After teaching and coaching in the Denver Public Schools, Diane served as a program officer at the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) in Denver. Since then, she has become a respected voice in the field of coaching and professional development.
