Generative Artificial Intelligence is transforming the educational landscape. Build your capacity to stay current with these changes and learn the most responsible and effective ways to apply AI to enhance teaching and learning. Uncover techniques to focus on ways K-12 educators may purposefully integrate AI tools into our roles, including approaches to use it for managing content, engaging learners, differentiating to meet students' needs, assessment, and providing feedback. Success Criteria

  • Navigate the most updated research around AI in education, including various state and national guidelines from the NEA, the U.S. Department of Ed, and the Illinois State Board of Education.
  • Address AI concerns and obstacles honestly and openly by mastering topics like trusting AI, plagiarism, and data security. 
  • Recognize the diverse range of expertise/exposure in the age of AI. 
  • Review the most updated research around AI in education, including various state and national guidelines. 
  • Explore the way AI integration can be implemented in conjunction with other school or district goals and initiatives. 
  • Master strategies for integrating AI tools into daily teaching functions of K-12 educators. 
  • Examine the way existing pedagogy and best practices can and should be considered when interacting with AI for teaching and learning. 
  • Consider the ethical concerns related to AI and learn some practical ways that other teachers, schools and districts have worked through them. 
  • Collaborate, ask questions, and synthesize learning with others interested in the same topic and with the presenter, a passionate thought-partner in this topic.

Meghan Hargrave is an experienced education coach, district consultant, and published author, specializing in guiding K-12 schools across the world in literacy teaching best practices. Her expertise is in orchestrating educational initiatives, teaching goals, student data, and current research to deliver customized professional development that meets the needs of all stakeholders. She has been instrumental in integrating generative AI into educational practices, holding certifications in ChatGPT, GoogleAI, and AI for Education. She co-authored The Artificial Intelligence Playbook with Fisher and Frey in early 2024. An accomplished presenter, Meghan enjoys collaborating with learning leaders and schools around the world.
