Live On Zoom
Since November 2022, educators have been exploring how ChatGPT can help write test questions, improve their emails, modify texts, and, yes, the various ways students will misuse it. Consequently, professional development for teachers has focused on how to leverage AI for curriculum development and methods for preventing student use. As educators have become more comfortable with its growing capabilities, schools have begun to consider the critical role it will play in how students learn and work. In this workshop, you will gain ready-to-use activities and strategies to teach students effective use of AI. We will also explore the latest AI tools for research, multimedia generation, and writing, along with sophisticated use of prompts to help students thrive in an AI-infused world.
Professional Learning Outcomes
- Explore new, specialized generative AI tools for text, image, and video creation.
- Create lessons incorporating age-appropriate student use of AI for research, preparing for assessments, writing, authentic projects, and more.
- Use sophisticated prompt engineering for brainstorming ideas, role-playing, self-evaluating written work, etc.
- Practice methods for students to verify the accuracy of AI-generated information.
