The first year or two in the classroom is tough!  Most find themselves frustrated with questions covering multiple topics! This workshop series is designed to help novice educators understand the "why" of what they do and determine if there is a better strategy for their classroom.

Attendees will explore skills, strategies, and relationships that are important to all new teachers and discuss how to put these into practice in your classroom to make learning work for you and your students.

SESSION 1:  Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 8:00 - 10:00 am (PST)

Social-Emotional Learning:  How do I strengthen relationships?

Your mentor Teacher:  What is the best way to utilize my mentor's expertise?


SESSION 2:   Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 8:00 - 10:00 am (PST)

Classroom Organization:  How can this help to create independent learners?

Classroom Management: What Strategies can I use to keep students engaged?


SESSION 3:   Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 8:00 - 10:00 am (PST)

Transitions:  How can smooth transitions provide more learning time? The Data-Driven Classroom: How can I use data to guide my instruction?


SESSION 4:   Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 8:00 - 10:00 am (PST)

Parent-Teacher Conferences: How can I make my conferences as effective as possible?  Professional Learning Communities (PLCs): How can I promote effective team meetings?


SESSION 5:   Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 8:00 - 10:00 am (PST)

Time Management: How do I fit it all in? Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans: What is my role and responsibilities for these?


SESSION 6:   Thursday, 8, 2024 from 8:00 - 9:00 am  (only 1 hour) (PST)

Wrap-Up of our Learning:  What is my top priority and action plan?


Dr. Judy Kmak has implemented new teacher orientation programs in multiple school districts and has coached hundreds of teachrs as an administrator.  Throughout her career, as a teacher and principal, she has focused on student engagement, professional collaboration, and community partnerships.  Judy currently assists mentors and new teachers as they work together to strengthen their teaching skills.  She understands the importance of building relationships within a school environment and includes this critical component throughout her workshops.
