Journey to Proficiency

FREE Webinar

September 27, 2023 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Pacific Time Zone)

Description:

The ability to read at grade level is critical for adolescent students because literacy is fundamental to learning in all subject areas and to college and career readiness.

Yet, NAEP scores indicate only 30% of California's eighth-grade students read proficiently.

Join this webinar to hear California education leaders share successful strategic plans that increase reading proficiency and equitably support the diverse needs of adolescent learners.

You'll gain new perspectives and insights on:

  • Increasing achievement for adolescent learners by developing every educators' knowledge in the science of reading
  • Engaging and motivating students by equipping teachers with age-appropriate instructional resources
  • Impacting adolescent reading comprehension by addressing connections between the science of reading and foundational literacy skill gaps
  • Improving proficiency for each adolescent reader by empowering teachers with data to identify skills gaps and individualize instruction
