Institute Description: 

Do you want to increase student engagement in your math classroom? Do you want your students to have more perseverance in their problem-solving? Do you want the learning experiences in math class to be more meaningful? Do you want your math class to be more enjoyable (for you AND your students)?

Institute Description:

In this workshop, you will set a vision for your mathematics classroom, and you will learn about NCTM's 8 Math Teaching Practices that will help you work toward that vision.

Join us as we explore how to:

  • Implement problem-solving tasks in a way that sparks and grows student perseverance
  • Deepen student understanding by using pictures and manipulatives
  • Facilitate meaningful mathematical conversations by posing the right questions at the right time
  • Empower student learners by including them in classroom conversations about math goals and assessments
