SOS Substitute Support

Webinar

When:  February 2, 2023 -  3:30 p.m.  - 5:00 p.m. (PT)

Description:

A recent survey by the National Education Association (NEA) reveals that 55% of educators throughout the country report that they are planning on leaving the profession or retiring early.  (The reality across our Nation is that teachers are, in fact, leaving the districts that have been doing their best to fill these positions with substitute teachers.)

However, due to a lack of qualified substitute teachers, a lot of phenomenal humans are stepping into open teaching positions as substitutes. Many of them without a background in education, classroom management, trauma or social emotional learning.  Additionally, educators who are new to the vocation or those who have previously retired, are stepping up and stepping into vacant positions without a great deal of support or guidance.   That said, this workshop is designed to encourage and empower these steadfast substitutes and newer  educators.

Additionally, educators who are new to the vocation or those who have previously retired, are stepping up and stepping into vacant positions without a great deal of support or guidance.  That said, this workshop is designed to encourage and empower these steadfast substitutes and educators.

Five ways of  igniting hope through connection and social emotional learning will be introduced, with applicable action steps to foster prosocial skills and positive behavior within the classroom.

Furthermore, participants will learn classroom management techniques based on proactive strategies to promote a restorative and productive classroom environment in which the well-being of students and teachers is nurtured, and all members of the classroom community are engaged in teaching and learning.

Participants will leave this presentation feeling validated, encouraged, and prepared to connect with students and cultivate an engaging and positive classroom culture.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email.  After payment process has been completed and closer to the date of the webinar, you will receive an email containing information about joining the meeting.
