California ASCD presents the Para Power Series

with Michelle Trujillo, MEd:

"The Invisible Backpack:  Meeting Students

in the Moment"

When:  Tuesday, September 28, 2021 -  2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. (Pacific time)

Description:

This workshop is designed to provide paraprofessionals with an understanding of the importance of meeting each student in midst of the moment.  Throughout the COVID pandemic, many students and staff members have experienced personal and unprecedented traumatic events.

Additionally, many students who are eligible for paraprofessional support often present with challenging behaviors.  Through anecdotes, current research and reflection opportunities, participants will explore the adversity that students may be experiencing in order to recognize the human being behind the behavior.

Participants learn how to use their own social emotional learning (SEL) skills to reinforce positive behavior as they collaborate with teachers to address interrupted learning and provide intentional, equitable and restorative student support.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email.

Michelle Trujillo, professional learning facilitator, author, and advocate for hope for an engaging virtual experience.  Michelle's keynote presentations and educational workshops leave audiences encouraged, empowered and ready to put ideas and strategies into practice!
