Description: 

In this interactive presentation, participants will compare current grading practices to the FAST standards of fairness, accuracy, specificity, and timeliness.  They will develop specific ways to improve feedback to all students.  Whether a system has adopted standards-based grading or is simply considering it, this presentation will help teachers and leaders to make progress in effective feedback.  In addition, the presentation considers the delicate issues of talking with parents, community members, and governing board members about grading and feedback, in a constructive and respectful way.

PRESENTER:

Dr. Douglas Reeves is the author of more than 40 books and 100 articles on education and leadership.  Twice named to the Harvard University Distinguished Authors Series, Doug received the Contribution to the Field Award from the National Staff Development Council (now Learning Forward) and was named the Brock International Laureate for his contributions to education.  Doug has shared his research in all fifty states and more than 40 countries.
