ASCD California

President's Message

President Sharron Zoller

I am excited about the opportunities that California ASCD offers us. Joining the CASCD affiliate, a separate membership from ASCD, opens options for educators, both veterans and those new to the profession. Membership offers access to the curated monthly curriculum blast, networking, advocating for educational issues, leadership opportunities, and partnering to create innovative personalized professional development to address 21st Century challenges.

The world is changing fast. Education must keep pace. Demographics, technology and strategies are constantly altering course. All this change represents great opportunities and raises questions.  Challenges are a part of life for an educational leader and practitioner. How do we navigate the changes and how do we prepare to stay ahead?

CASCD partners with schools, districts and county offices to answer the questions to meet the challenges. CASCD has pioneered a unique, personalized approach to creating professional development, putting the interests, needs and pedagogical issues of the educators first. It starts with a conversation. What are your short and long-term priorities and how can we come alongside to execute a plan? Through honest dialogue we find out what you want the future to look like, and by partnering we develop a professional development action plan, (not "the answer in a box") that will help turn those goals into reality.

CASCD is an agile, flexible organization. Together we create the professional development offerings to address 21st Century needs. We focus on what's really important—your educational future.

Driven by opportunities, with passion and dedication to Whole Child Education, California ASCD looks forward to your membership.
